The administration announced one-time $90 payments, drawn from the Medicare Improvement Fund, to help about 20.8 million people with Original Medicare Part B cover their premiums. People in Medicare Advantage plans, people whose Part B premiums are already paid by Medicaid, and people paying higher income-based premiums (IRMAA) are not eligible — leaving roughly two-thirds of Part B enrollees out.

Eligible enrollees should see a direct deposit around October 8, with paper checks later in the month. Separately, the Social Security Administration is scheduled to announce the 2027 cost-of-living adjustment on October 14.
